Lithium-ion batteries have become a typical and in fact a critical part of our lives for usage with everyday devices and appliances, and for providing supplemental energy through power banks and larger energy storage systems. As they have become more commonplace in our day-to-day usage around the house, in the workplace, and in public, there have also become an increasing number of battery failures due to various causes resulting in millions of dollars of loss.
In this presentation, trends will be discussed with real case studies that provide insight into lithium-ion batteries, demonstrating examples of failures and resulting losses. The focus would be on small appliances and devices, highlighting typical failures and how to avoid them.
