Adopting Fluorine-Free Foam Systems

This presentation will explore the  requirements and processes involved in retrofitting fire suppression systems to incorporate fluorine foam. It will cover the key steps needed to introduce fluorine foam into existing systems. Additionally, the session will provide an overview of various fluorine foam products currently available in the market and discuss alternative options to AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam), examining their effectiveness and regulatory considerations. Attendees will gain insights into the transition to more sustainable and compliant fire suppression solutions.

 

Philip Novac, National Foam

Philip Novac is the Vice President of Sales for National Foam.  In this capacity, Mr. Novac has direct responsibility for sales, product management, training, and special projects.  He has been associated, led or managed all of National Foam’s fluorine free foam initiatives over the last several years.  This includes specific portfolio foam concentrates for POG, municipal, industrial, aviation and MilSpec.  Mr. Novac is also National Foam’s special project lead dealing specifically with the Department of Defense and Naval Research Laboratory (warrant holder for the US MilSpec). He is the past Fire Fighting Foam Coalition Chairman (FFFC) located in Washington, DC. Mr. Novac and his team have developed and successfully implemented a comprehensive foam conversion process to numerous industries including POG, chemical, DOD, aviation and municipal fire departments.
