Jacob McGivern is a technical consultant with LRI Engineering Inc., the largest wholly Canadian owned professional engineering firm specializing exclusively in Building Code consulting, fire protection engineering, and emergency planning. 

Jacob is a graduate from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. As an engineer-in-training through APEGA, Jacob is engaged by engineers, architects, interior designers and other design professionals throughout all phases of a project. Jacob's experience spans numerous facility types including assembly, retail, institutional, residential, and industrial sectors.

As a technical consultant, Jacob is known by clients and peers for his well-established knowledge and application of the Building and Fire Codes. Jacob provides analysis regarding building and fire code compliance, development of alternative solutions and performance-based design options for fire and life safety. Under the supervision of a professional engineer, Jacob has extensive experience in the development of adjacent property protection plans and application of NFPA 80A Recommended Practice for Protection of Buildings from Exterior Fire Exposures.
